Home Helps.
Three Home Helps are employed by the voluntary Committees
of the Infant Welfare Centres.
In one instance the Borough Council pays 100 per cent. of
the expenditure not exceeding £80 per annum.
In the other two instances, the Council pays 75 per cent. of
the expenditure incurred.
The Borough Council also contributes towards the charges
made by other women who assist in the home during confinements
if both the Health Visitor and the midwife consider her to be
suitable for assisting in this manner. Each case is considered by
the Maternity and Child Welfare Committee who decide as to the
amount of the grant which should be paid.
