there is a second clinic which is conducted by one of the doctors
on the rota. Other cases from the neighbourhood as well as
women who have booked at the Council's Maternity Home attend
these clinics.
Ante-natal clinics are also held at the Maternity Home three
times per week, two being conducted by the Midwives of the Home
and one by the doctors on the rota.
Table XXXI gives the details of the work carried out at all
the ante-natal clinics and post-natal clinics. 1,448 expectant
mothers, of which 1,306 were new cases, attended the clinics, and
the total number of attendances was 6,511.
Post-Natal Clinics.
A weekly post-natal clinic is held at the Maternity Home for
women who have been confined there, and post-natal women
attend at the district ante-natal clinics for consultation and
examination.
