Statement of Work Done under the Food and Drugs,
(Adulteration) Act, 1928.
During the year 2,002 samples of foods and drugs were submitted
to the Public Analyst for analysis. Of these 1,002 were
submitted as official samples while 1,000 were purchased unofficially
as test for informal samples. 46 or 4.5 per cent. of the official
samples, and seven or 0.7 per cent. of the unofficial samples were
found to be adulterated or not up to standard. The total adulterations
reported were 53 or 2.6 per cent. of the samples submitted.
