(Adulteration) Act, 1928.
During the year 2,000 samples of foods and drugs were submitted
to the Public Analyst for analysis. Of these 1,000 were
submitted as official samples while 1,000 were purchased unofficially
as test or informal samples. 13 or 1.3 per cent. of the official
samples, and 15 or 1.5 per cent. of the unofficial samples were
found to be adulterated or not up to standard. The total adulterations
reported were 28 or 1.4 per cent. of the samples submitted.
