Underground Rooms.
There are 11 underground rooms in illegal occupation at
the present time and notices have been served, but owing to
the difficulty of other accommodation being obtained for the
occupiers no further action can be taken in the meanwhile.
Housing Act, 1925.
All house-to-house inspections under the Public Health
(London) Act, 1891, are carried out as if these were inspections
under Part IV. of the Housing Consolidated Regulations, 1925,
and the results recorded on a special card which was drawn up
in 1910 and has been in use since that date. Where nuisances
are found, notices are served under the Public Health Act.
The results of these inspections are shown in Table XXXII.
1,435 inspections were made, compared with 1,674 in 1926, and
%
nuisances were found in 1,165 of the houses, necessitating the
service of sanitary notices.
