10 samples of milk were taken on delivery at various Public
Institutions situated within the Borough. All these samples were
genuine.
43 samples of milk were procured whilst in transit from the
farmer to the retailer, the samples being taken as the milk arrived
at various railway stations within the Borough, both at midnight
and midday deliveries. Six samples were reported against, and in
each case proceedings were taken against the farmer.
Four samples of milk were procured during the early morning
from wholesale dealers whilst delivering milk to the retailer. These
samples were genuine.
Six samples of milk were procured on delivery at private housesOne
of these was reported against.
180 samples of milk have been taken on Sundays, either in the
early morning or at midday. Six, or 3.3 per cent., were reported
against as being adulterated.
540 samples of milk were taken from milk vendors in the street
during the early morning (i.e., 5 to 7 a.m.) on week-days, and of
these 17, or 3.1 per cent., were reported against.
