During the year 16 tubes of anti-toxin were issued to medical
practitioners for use in cases of Diphtheria.
Scarlet Fever.
This disease was much less prevalent during the year, compared
with 1922, the number of cases being 579, compared with 1,257.
The number of deaths was three, compared with 19 in 1922,
and the death-rate was .008 per 1,000 compared with .05. The
case mortality was .51 per cent.
