14 samples of milk were procured during the early morning
(from 3 to 4 a.m.), from wholesale dealers whilst delivering milk

two were reported as being adulterated. The adulteration being
small, no proceedings were taken, but the vendor was warned.

162 samples of milk have been taken on Sundays, either in the
early morning or at mid-day. 12 or 7.4 per cent. were reported
against as being adulterated, compared with 10.6 in 1913, 10 per
cent. in 1912, and 10 per cent. in 1911.
351 samples of milk were taken from milk vendors in the
street during the early morning (i.e., 5 to 7 a.m.), on week days,
and of these 36 or 10.2 per cent. were reported against.
10 samples of milk were taken from automatic milk supply
machines and all were reported to be genuine.
In two cases proceedings were taken against milk vendors for
selling milk from receptacles upon which their name and address
were not conspicuously inscribed. (See other offences, Table CXIX.)
In 12 cases the defendants relied on a warranty, and in each
case the Magistrate was satisfied that the milk sold was in the same
condition as received.
