Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
At East Hill Dispensary there were 664 cases examined, compared
with 712 last year, a decrease of 48.
At Balham Dispensary there were 307 cases examined, compared
with 224 last year, an increase of 83.
The attendances at East Hill were 4,856, an increase of 855 on
last year, and at Balham 2,801, an increase of 1,300.
Table LXXV. shows the sub-districts from which the patients
were drawn, and the authorities or agencies recommending them to
attend one of the Dispensaries.
The largest number of patients came from Wandsworth, the
smallest number from Putney.
20 persons came from outside the Borough. These were
examined, and if found to be suffering from Tuberculosis, transferred
for treatment at Dispensaries in their own areas.
The London Insurance Committee figures for the first time
as one of the authorities sending patients to the dispensaries.
496 patients, or 51 per cent. were recommended by the Public
Health Department, compared with 68.1 per cent. in 1913.
