Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
The percentage of illegitimate births to total births was 4.30
compared with 4.13 in 1913, 3.30 in 1912 and 2.68 in 1911, and
4.30 for England and Wales for 1912.

Notification of Births Act.
During the year 6,390 births were notified, 1,147 from Clapham,
445 from Putney, 1,708 from Streatham, 906 from Tooting and
2,184 from Wandsworth.
127 births were notified from the Workhouse, of which 72
belonged to this Borough, and 55 to other places. Of the 72
which belonged to this Borough, the home addresses of five were
in Clapham, of 11 in Putney, of 17 in Streatham, of nine in Tooting,
and of 30 in Wandsworth.
The following Table shows the number of births notified in each
sub-district and in the whole Borough, the persons by whom
notified and whether the children were born alive or dead.
