The above were the cause of 69.4 per cent. of the total deaths,
compared with 82.5 in 1910, 82.1 in 1909, 78.6 in 1908, 77.1 in 1907,
and 67.2 in 1906.
Cancer.
The total number of deaths from Cancer and other malignant
diseases was 321,119 of males and 202 of females, compared with
298 in 1910, an increase of 23, compared with the previous year
and of 28 compared with the corrected decennial average.
The corrected death-rate was 1.04 per 1,000, compared with
.99 in 1910, .94 in 1909, .97 in 1908, .99 in 1907, and .96 in 1906.
The number of deaths and the death-rate in each sub-district
was as follows:—Clapham 64 and 1.08; Putney 34 and 1.20
Streatham 121 and 1.26; Tooting 22 and .64; and Wandsworth 80
and .88.
