SANITARY CONVENIENCES.
A new Underground Convenience for men and women has been
constructed in Buckhold Road at the junction of High Street,
Wandsworth. The accommodation provided is three W.C.s, eight
urinal stalls, lavatory compartment and attendant's room for men, and
five W.C.s, including one free W.C., lavatory compartment and
attendant's room for women. The work was carried out under
contract by Mr. H. Hann, the total cost, including diversion of
3-ft. 6-in. x 2 ft. 6-in. brick sewer, being £ 1,987 2s. 9d.
In connection with the construction of the new tramways in
Putney Bridge Road, the circular iron urinal near High Street,
Wandsworth, has been removed and re-erected in Point Pleasant near
the railway bridge. The work was carried out by and at the cost of
the London County Council.
New "Victorite" treads have been fixed 011 the steps at the
Underground Convenience, Tooting Broadway, by the Patent Victoria
Stone Co., at a cost of £13 6s. od.
