TREES.
The trees in the public roads have been pruned and lopped, newstakes
and wiring have been fixed, and new trees planted where
necessary at a cost of £369 os. 5d.
The following are particulars of work carried out:—
277 New Trees planted.
6,147 Trees pruned.
1,757 „ re-wired.
2,360 „ re-staked.
3,572 ,, re-tied.
1,622 New Poles fixed to Trees.
The approximate number of trees in the Borough maintained by
the Council is 6,76s.

The following is the cost of pruning, lopping, staking, &c., existing, trees, and planting new trees for the last three years:

STEAM ROLLERS.

The six steam rollers (belonging to the Council) have been worked 1,257 days during the year.
