The amount expended in the maintenance of these, together with
19 urinals, was £2,420 us. 5d.
New treads have been fixed on the steps at the underground
convenience. High Street, Putney, by the Safety Tread Syndicate
Limited, at a cost of £15 13s. 11d.
A new underground convenience for men has been constructed
in Christchurch Road at the junction with Brixton Hill. The
accommodation provided is two W.C.s, eight urinal stalls, lavatory
compartment and attendant's room. The work was carried out under
contract by Mr. A. A. Sedcole, the total cost, including the diversion of
18-inch water main being £1,193 8s. 6d.
The following are the particulars of the private drains which have been constructed by the Council during the past year, the cost having been paid by the persons for whom the work was executed:—
