Heater
Condenser.
147. A new heater condenser has been provided at the
Wandsworth Baths capable of condensing about
Condenser. 3,000 lbs. of steam per hour when supplied with
water circulating at the rate of 7,000 gallons per hour at a temperature
of 60 degrees. The condenser was supplied by Messrs.
Royles, Limited, for the sum of £98, and the fixing was carried
out by the staff under the direction of the Superintendent. The
condenser was tested upon being fixed, and the water was
delivered at 90 degrees. The condenser continues to work satisfactorily,
and there is a saving in the consumption of coal.
Guards for
Machinery.
148. Guards for the protection of the staff have been provided
for the lift and machinery in the laundry at
the Wandsworth Baths, at a cost of £13 7s. 6d.
149. The Council has considered the subject of letting the
Scale of Wandsworth Baths for swimming entertainments,
Entertainments, and regulations and a scale of charges have been
adopted. The fee payable in future for the use of the baths will
be proportionate to the amount of accommodation required. The
subject of the use of the first-class swimming bath during the
winter season, when it is floored over, is under consideration. The
covered bath has hitherto been used as a gymnasium.

Spray Baths at
Wandsworth.
150. The subject of the practicability of providing spray baths
at the Wandsworth Baths, either by the adaptation
of some of the present slipper baths or otherwise,
was considered by the Baths and Washhouses Committee,
who reported that it was practicable to provide five spray
