Table XLV. shows the number of cases of Measles and other
non-notifiable diseases notified by the teachers in the elementary
schools in the Borough. .
In all 4,079 cases were notified, compared with 3,810 in 1906,
and 3,352 in 1905.
1,602 of these were cases of Measles, 735 of Chicken-pox, 930
of Whooping Cough, 372 of Mumps, and 440 of Ringworm.
There was an increase in the number of cases of Measles,
Chicken-pox, Whooping Cough, and Ringworm, compared with
1906, but a decrease in the number of cases of Mumps.
With regard to Measles, 285 cases were notified from schools
in Clapham, 159 in Putney, 441 in Streatham, 214 in Tooting, and
503 in Wandsworth.
The schools chiefly affected were : in Clapham, Bonneville
Road, Haselrigge Road, and New Park Road; in Putney, All
Saints' and St. Mary's; in Streatham, Broadwater Road, Fircroft
Road, St. Mary's, and Sunnyhill Road; in Tooting, Sellincourt
Road and Tooting Graveney; and in Wandsworth, Southfields,.
Waldron Road and Merton Road.
