Catalogues.
Two Fiction Lists, one Supplementary Author-List, and one
Class List (Poetry, etc.) were compiled and printed

up-to-date, and a good deal of attention devoted to the preparation of
a General Subject-Catalogue of the books in the Balham Library.
The following is a statement of receipts from the sale of Catalogues, etc., and fines for the overdue detention of books :—

Reading
Rooms.
The Reading Rooms have been very largely attended during the
year. They are kept well supplied with a selection of
the principal papers and periodicals, the list being
revised and augmented at frequent intervals. A list of the papers
provided at each Library is appended. See pages 303-308.
Donors.
A list of the Donors of books, newspapers, and periodicals
during the past year is given on page 302.
Buildings.
The Balham Library has been repainted and decorated, and the
usual attention given to maintaining the other buildings
in a state of good repair.
During the past year the Sub-Committee have had under consideration
the subject of extending and improving the Libraries at
Streatham, Balham, and Tooting.
By the generosity of the donor (Sir William J. Lancaster, J.P.), the
Tooting Library is now being enlarged, and will, when completed,
provide ample accommodation to meet the requirements of the
district.
Signed on behalf of the Sub-Committee,
J. H. ANDERSON,
Chairman.
