The next Table shows in detail the work of the Inspectors in
factories and workshops where males are chiefly employed.
The Table shows the work done in each sub-district and is
grouped under five chief divisions: (1) factories, (2) workshops,
(3) domestic workshops, (4) workplaces, and (5) outworkers'
premises.
The total number of inspections was 1,964, compared with
2,023 in 1905, and 1,849 in 1904, and re-inspected 1,649, compared
with 1,222 and 1,014.
674 of the inspections and 201 of the re-inspections were in
Clapham, 263 and 597 in Putney, 450 and 196 in Streatham, 129
and 55 in Tooting, and 448 and 600 in Wandsworth.
One workshop where males were employed was notified to
H.M. Inspector, and 17 were reported by the Inspector to this
Council.
