The above were the cause of 84.7 per cent. of the total
deaths, compared with 86.4 in 1905, 84 in 1904, 85.8 in 1903,
83.9 in 1902, and 85.3 in 1901.
Cancer.
The total number of deaths from Cancer and other malignant
diseases was 256, 92 of males and 164 of females, compared with
224 in 1905, an increase of 32, but a decrease of four compared
with the corrected decennial average.
The corrected death-rate was .82 per 1,000, compared with
.78 in 1905, .92 in 1904, and .98 in 1903.
The number of deaths and the death-rate in each sub-district
was as follows:— Clapham 53 and .79; Putney 26 and .88; Streatham
77 and .81; Tooting 21 and .73; and Wandsworth 79 and .87.
One of the deaths occurred at one to five years, one from 15
to 25 years, 163 from 25 to 65, and 91 over 65 years.
