170 out of the total of 188 deaths from Diarrhoea and 42 out
of 71 from Enteritis occurred in the third quarter of the year.
The number of deaths from Diarrhoea, Zymotic Enteritis and
Enteritis under one year represents 33 per cent. of the total mortality
at that age, compared with 21.1 per cent. in 1905, and 28.8
per cent. in 1904, so that it is due to these causes that there has
been an increase in the total infantile mortality during the year
1906.
In 186 of the deaths special enquiries were made and the following
Table shows the methods of feeding the deceased infants.
