Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
The following Table shows the death-rate per 100,000 from
Tubercular Diseases of the Lungs for the whole Borough, and for the
separate sub-districts for the year, as well as for the preceding ten
years.

This Table shows that there has been a considerable reduction in
the mortality in 1905 compared with the decennial average, particularly
in the sub-district of Clapham, where the rate was only 95, compared
with 124, the average for the ten years 1895-1904.
Three deaths from Tubercular Disease of the Lungs occurred under
one year, seven from one to five years, seven from five to 15 years,
44 from 15 to 25 years, 194 from 25 to 65 years, and 11 over 65 years.
From other Tubercular Diseases 31 occurred under one year, 35 from
one to five years, 15 from five to 15 years, and 12 from 25 to 65 years.
Of the deaths from Tubercular Disease of the Lungs, 150 were of
males and 116 of females, compared with 158 of males and 125 of
females in 1904, while, of the deaths from other Tubercular Diseases, 52
were of males and 42 of females, compared with 50 and 47 in 1904.
The list which follows gives the occupation of those who died
from Tubercular Disease of the Lungs during the year.
