The case-rate for the year is .28 under that for the year 1904,
and .99 under the average for the 10 years 1895-1904. The highest
case-rate was in Tooting and the lowest in Putney.
The rate in Clapham was higher in 1905 than in 1904, but it was
still 1.29 under the decennial average.
Compared with the whole of London the case-rate is .17 lower,
while in 1904 it was only .06 lower and in 1903 .44 higher.
The death-rate for 1905 was only .11 per 1,000 ( .08 in Clapham,
.17 in Putney, .08 in Streatham, .26 in Tooting, and .09 in Wandsworth).
This rate was lowest in Clapham and highest in Tooting.
In 1904 this rate was .16 per 1,000 and in the whole of London
.12, and .16 in 1904.
The death-rate for the Borough is .14 lower than the decennial
average; the only sub-district showing a higher rate than the
decennial being Tooting, but even in this sub-district the increase was
only .01 per 1,000. There has been considerable reduction in the
mortality in Clapham and Wandsworth, the difference between the
decennial average and the rate for 1905 being, in Clapham and
Wandsworth .19 per 1,000.
