Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
In Putney the number of cases notified was considerably under
the average, the majority of the cases being very mild and no deaths
occurred.
In Streatham the number of cases was somewhat above the
average.
The greatest number of cases were notified in the months of
March, April, May, September, October and November.
In Tootingthe maximum number of cases was notified in November
and the minimum in July. The total number was considerably above
the average for the previous years.
A large proportion of the increase was due to subsequent cases
occurring in the same house, and this applied not only to Tooting, but
to the whole Borough.
In the sub-district of Wandsworth Scarlet Fever was exceedingly
prevalent during the whole year. Only in the last month were the
notifications under 30. The maximum number of cases occurred in
October and the minimum in December.
The following Table shows the number of cases notified in each
sub-district during each month of the year 1905 :—
