Premature Birth and Developmental Diseases.
298 deaths occurred from the above during the year, 167 of males
and 131 of females, compared with 322 in 1903, and 308 in 1902.
112 of the deaths were due to Premature Birth and 186 to
developmental diseases.
290 were of infants under one year, and eight from one to five
years.
75 of these deaths occurred in Clapham, 27 in Putney, 70 in
Streatham, 37 in Tooting, and 81 in Wandsworth. Compared with
1903 there has been a decrease in each sub-district, especially in the
number of deaths from developmental diseases.
Old Age.
218 deaths ocurred from Old Age, compared with 191 in 1903;
78 of these deaths were of males and 140 of females.
47 of the deaths occurred in Clapham, 19 in Putney, 70 in
Streatham, 19 in Tooting, and 63 in Wandsworth. All the deaths
were of persons over 65 years of age.
