The number of deaths from Diarrhœa and Enteritis under one
year represents as much as 28.8 per cent. of the total mortality at that
age, and, in consequence, special attention has been given to ascertain
if possible the exact causes which operate in producing this disease.
Out of the total 180 deaths, inquiries where made in the case of
145, and the following Table shows the methods of feeding the
children who died from Diarrhœa and Zymotic Enteritis.
