and one from other septic diseases in St. Anne's Home; two from
Inflnenza in Tooting Home ; and one from other septic diseases in a
Nu-sing Home.
In 1903 the number of these deaths was 57, in 1902 161, and in
4901 188.
This large decrease is due in some measure to the greatly diminished
mortality from Diphtheria,
Of the total of 511 deaths, 41 occurred in the Fever Hospitals at
Tooting, two from Measles, eight from Scarlet Fever, 24 from
Diphtheria, six from Enteric Fever, and one from Puerperal Fever.
Table XIX. shows the death-rate from these diseases for the
whole Borough and for each sub-district for the year 1904, as well as
for the ten previous years. The rate above or below the decennial
average is also shown.

The death-rate from these diseases for the year, although slightly
higher than in 1903, is '36 under the decennial average.
The rate in Clapham was 20 above last year, but '62 under the
■decennial average; in Putney 21 under last year, and '41 under the
decennial average ; in Streatham 05 under last year, and 44 under
the decennial average; in Tooting '43 above last year, but 'oi under
the decennial average ; and in Wandsworth 54 above last year, but 06
under the decennial average.
