Re-port of the Medical Officer of Health. 15
A more exact comparison between the death-rate in this
Borough and the rates in other Boroughs in the Metropolis may
be made if a correction is made for age and sex distribution.
This factor has been ascertained to be 1,052 and if the
corrected death-rate be multiplied by this it becomes 12.87 per
1,000, compared with 14.00 in 1902.

In the various Boroughs of London the rates during the year were as follows, beginning with the lowest:—
