at the Census of 1901, 12,266 resided in tenements of less than
five rooms. Of these 12,266,
845 resided in 499 tenements of one room ;

5,320 „ 1,186 „ four rooms.
Compare this ward with the Tooting ward. Out of a total
population of 16,473 at the Census, 6,527 resided in tenements
of less than five rooms. Of these 6,527,
