For purposes of disinfection and cleansing the Girls' and
Infants' Departments were closed from Thursday evening, the
13th November, and was not opened till Wednesday, the 19th
November. Three class-rooms, the hall, and two cloak-rooms
were thoroughly disinfected by the Sanitary Staff.
Only five cases of Diphtheria occurred among children attending
this school during the rest of the year. From the onset of this
outbreak, I was of opinion that it was due to some unrecognised
