REPORT
of the
Medical Officer of Health for the Year 1901.
To the Mayor, Aldermen, and Councillors of the Borough
Council.
Sir, and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present the first Annual Report
of the health and sanitary condition of the Metropolitan Borough,
and although my term of office did not commence till the 29th
June the Report deals with the whole of the year 1901.
Population.
The following particulars of the Census taken in March,
1901, are abstracted from the Census returns, and show the total
population of the Borough, the population of the several subdistricts,
and the population of the nine wards, compared with
the Census of 1891 and that of 1896.
The area of these divisions as well as the number of inhabited
and uninhabited houses is also given.
