Hoardings. The sum of £8 10s. has been received for
hoarding licences, and £81 in deposits
for re-instating pavements after the removal of the
hoardings.
Trenches. The cost of repairs to gas, water, electric
light, and telephone trenches, paid for by the
several Companies, has been £3,356 0s. 9d.
stables The number of horses kept by the Council
during the past year averaged 22½
Two additional horses have been purchased at a cost of
£148, and two have been sold for £40 19s. Od the
total number of horses now kept in this ward being 24.

The following are the particulars of the cost of maintenance of the stable establishment for the year, showing the keep of horses, including labour and expenses of every description, viz.:—
