During the year, 161 deaths occurred in the various
public institutions in this parish. 136 of these occurred
in the Middlesex Lunatic Asylum, 13 in the Royal
Hospital for Incurables, eight in the Prison, three in the
Workhouse, and one in St. Peter's Hospital. No deaths
occurred in the Boys' Home, or in the Patriotic Asylum
for Girls during the year. 14 deaths of persons belonging
to other parishes were registered in this parish,
making a total of 175 deaths to be deducted from the
total deaths registered, giving a corrected total of 789,
compared with 783 in 1889.
After correction for the above internal institutions,
the death-rate was 12.03 per 1,000, compared with 12.47
in 1889, and 13.36 the decennial average.
Table I. shows the births, birth-rate, the deaths
from all causes, the death-rate corrected and uncorrected,
and the rate of natural increase for the year, as well as
for the 10 preceding years.
