Bacteriological During the year, 44 Bacteriological ExamiExaminations.
nations have been made by the Jenner
Institute for the diagnosis of Enteric Fever and Diphtheria,
and of these, 22 gave a positive, and 22 a negative
result.
33 of these examinations were for Diphtheria, and
11 for Enteric Fever.
In 1899, 29 examinations were made, and it was
hoped that greater advantage would be taken by
medical practitioners for confirming their diagnosis, but
the increase has not been so great as was anticipated.
Many medical men, however, still have these
examinations made privately.
