The zymotic death-rate was 3*03 per 1,000 of population,
an increase of 1-03 compared with 1897, and -49
above the decennial average.
'1 o ascertain the true zymotic death-rate for the
year, the deaths from these diseases in outlying institutions
must be added, and those in internal institutions
not belonging to this parish subtracted.
