HEALTH AND SANITARY CONDITION OF THE
ENTIRE DISTRICT.
Population. The population, estimated to the middle of 1898, was 202,469. The following Table gives the population of the District and Sub.Districts in 1898, and at the three last censuses.

It has to be noted, however, that the population of
the several institutions in the parish of Wandsworth
amounted to 3,906, and has therefore to be excluded in
calculating the birth and death rates, The population
for this purpose is 198,563.
