Deaths and The total number of deaths registered
Death-rate. during the year was 423, a diminution of 22
on the number registered in 1884. Of these deaths 197
were those of males, and 226 those of females. The
death-rate calculated from the total number of deaths,
and the official estimate of the population, was 13.9 per
thousand persons living during the year. This is below
the decennial average, and when the increased density of
the population is considered it is a very low one.
