The density of the population in Battersea has increased
during last year twice as much as that in any
of the other sub.districts, and it is gratifying to find that
there has been no corresponding increase of its mortality.
Mortality and Zymotic diseases caused 15.2 percent. of
its Causes. the total deaths in the district as compared
Zymotic Diseases with 19.1 percent, in the previous year.
The zymotic death.rate was 2.56 per thousand
of the population; the largest proportion of the deaths
from zymotic diseases resulting from the seven chief
epidemic diseases enumerated in the following table.
