The principal causes of death in their order of severity were:
Heart Disease, 167; Cancer, 87; Tuberculosis (all forms) 33; and
Pneumonia (all forms), 35.
The average yearly death rate of the Borough during the
previous five years was 12.7 per 1,000 population, so that the death
rate for 1933 is seen to be slightly below this average.
Comparing this table with the corresponding table of the
preceding year, the following facts are noteworthy : There has
been a slight decrease in the number of deaths from Heart Disease
and Pneumonia, the Tuberculosis deaths have dropped to 19
fewer and the Cancer deaths remain at the same figure.
