Prevention of Blindness.—No action was taken during the
year under Section 66 of the Public Health Amendment Act, ] 925,
for the prevention of blindness or for the treatment of persons
suffering from any disease or injury to the eyes.
TUBERCULOSIS.
There were notified 72 cases of pulmonary, and 14 cases of
non-pulmonary Tuberculosis, with 58 deaths as set forth by ages
in the accompanying table. Of these deaths, 13 had not been
notified—12 pulmonary and 1 non-pulmonary. In 1930 there were
notified 93 pulmonary cases and 24 non-pulmonary cases.
During 1931 there was thus a death rate of 1 -05 for Consumption,
and of 1 *1 for all forms of Tuberculosis per 1,000 of population
living.
