INFANTILE MORTALITY.
There were 106 deaths registered of infants under one year of
age, as against 998 births; the proportion which the deaths under
1 year of age bear to 1,000 births is, therefore, 106.2, as against
66.1 in the preceding year.
The deaths under 1 year of age form 16.7 per cent, of the total
deaths of all ages, whereas those for the preceding year formed
10.6 per cent.
