Refuges.
There are 2 Refuges in the Borough, one at Wanless Road,
and the other at the Wharf (Belvedere Road). Neither Refuge
has been used during 1907—a fact that is understood, when it is
remembered that the old method of sulphur fumigation for the
disinfection of houses has given place to the new one of
formalin spray, which can be carried out without trouble to the
occupiers, taking only an hour or so to complete. The temporary
housing of occupiers is unnecessary.
