Only one was found to be unsatisfactory. This was a sample
of melon seeds submitted to the Public Analyst as the result of a
complaint. The complaint was that the seeds were not melon seeds.
In fact the Public Analyst reported that the seeds were properly
described but that the oil in which they were packed was slightly
rancid. Saponification iodine and acid values all indicated that the
sample was free from adulteration and no action was therefore taken.
