HOUSE-TO-HOUSE INSPECTIONS.
The number of house-to-house inspections has been higher, but the withdrawal of the inspectors from their duties for A.R.P. service in September and the shortage of materials militated against the carrying out of the sanitary work required.

OTHER HOUSING ACTIVITIES.
(1) COMPULSORY PURCHASE. — The Hornsey (Camps-
bourne) Compulsory Purchase Order, 1939. involving
houses in Brook and Boyton Roads, received the sanction
of the Minister of Health following an inquiry held
at the Town Hall in May.
(2) DEMOLITION AND RE-HOUSING.—Demolition notices
were served in respect of 1, 2, 3, 4. and 5, Constitution
Hill, 1, 2 and 3, School Place, and 39, 41 and 43,
