CHILD LIFE PROTECTION.
PUBLIC HEALTH ACT, 1936 (Secs. 206—220)).
The Children Act, 1908, and the Children and Yonng Persons
Acts, 1932 & 1933, have been superseded in the main and incorporated
in the Public Health Act, 1936.
The work, however, is still carried out by the Health Visitors
in their respective areas.
Foster-mothers are encouraged to bring the children to the
centres for periodical medical examination.
The number of requests for foster-mothers is much in excess
of the number available and requests are often received from
Societies and Authorities outside the Borough.
