VACCINATION.
The Public Vaccinators inform me that they have performed
vaccination of persons in the Borough during 1936 as follows:—
Dr. E. Buckler 89
Dr. B. Anderson 251 children, 3 adults
PREVENTION OF BLINDNESS.
(SECTION 66, PUBLIC HEALTH ACT, 1925.)
All cases of ophthalmia neonatorum likely to cause blindness
or permanent damage to the eyes are admitted to St. Margaret's
Hospital (Kentish Town) of the London County Council, where
they receive the most efficient treatment. The doctors in
practice and the midwives all know of this excellent arrangement
and the result is that year after year we have a record of no
blindness resulting from this dangerous infection.

Table: Six cases of ophthalmia neonatorum were notified. Four were treated in St. Margaret's (L.C.C.) Hospital and two were nursed at home. One of these cases was still in hospital at the end of the year, but has since been discharged with vision unimpaired.
