SPECIAL CAUSES OF SICKNESS.
The area has not been visited during the year by any unusual
causes of sickness or invalidity. Occupational disease or disability
is practically never observed. Whilst there has been a
good deal of unemployment in recent years, the health and
physique of the population has not deteriorated. On the contrary—thanks
to the efficacy of various agencies at work—there
has been steady improvement in the average physical condition
of the young population.
