(h) Dental defects are treated by three part-time dentists, who
devote a total of ten sessions per week to this work. A wholetime
School Dentist is about to be appointed in their place to
commence duty on April 1st, 1931.
(i) Crippling Defects—the orthopaedic scheme. The most
important development in the treatment of school children
during the year was the inauguration of an orthopaedic scheme
jointly with the Maternity and Child Welfare Committee.
Briefly the scheme includes:—
(1) A local Orthopaedic Clinic equipped in the premises at
6, Topsfield Parade, recently vacated as an Education Office
and now forming part of the School Clinic.
