The cost of maintenance (provisions) per inmate (patients

Scarlet Fever.— The number of cases notified in Hornsey
during 1914 was 346, and of these 251 (equal to 72 per cent. of
the cases notified) were admitted to the Isolation Hospital.
There were also 70 cases of Scarlet Fever admitted from
Finchley and 185 from Wood Green.
There was one death in the Hospital from Scarlet Fever
during the year, giving a case mortality of 017 per cent. of the
cases of Scarlet Fever under treatment.
Diphtheria.— There were 101 cases of Diphtheria notified in
the Borough during the year, and of these 60 cases (equal to 59
per cent, of those notified) were admitted to the Isolation
Hospital.
There were also 45 cases of Diphtheria admitted from Finchley,
and 80 from Wood Green.
There were 9. deaths in the Hospital during the year from
Diphtheria, giving a case mortality of 4.3 per cent, of the cases
of Diphtheria under treatment.
Enteric Fever.— There were nine cases of this disease
notified in the Borough during the year, and of these 5 (equal to
55 per cent. of the cases notified) were admitted to the Isolation
Hospital.
There were also four cases of Enteric Fever admitted from
Finchley and three from Wood Green.
