Illegitimate Births.—There were 42 illegitimate births
recorded in 1913, and 25 in 1912, an increase of 17.
The proportion of illegitimate births of the total registered
births is 29 per cent., an increase of 11 over last year.
Eleven of the illegitimate births occurred in the New Edmonton Infirmary and 12 in other Institutions and places outside the Borough, and in the following table these have been allocated to the Wards of the Borough in which the mothers resided before gaining admission to these' Institutions:—
