The increase in population in North and South Haringey and
Finsbury Park is due to the increasing practice of sub-letting
rooms, or portions of houses formerly occupied by one family only,
in many cases the sanitary conveniences and water supply and
facilities for washing, which sufficed for the house as originally
tenanted, are inadequate where each of the three or four floors
accommodates its separate family.
The following table gives the revised estimated population at
the middle of each year, for each Ward of the Borough:—
